Anyway, that was yesterday lets get down to today’s business.

Total miles – 1,313.9.

I was woken early this morning by a text message and the after effects of a slightly dodgy pizza last night so I had a rubbish breakfast (cereal and a bagel) and hit the road towards the horse shoe casino in Hammond to meet my un-official US liaison officer Graham.

It was cold and grey this morning so I felt right at home. The cold was a welcome break from the heat and humidity that I had experienced since I had been here. That was until my hands went numb and I started shivering.

Illinois is an hour behind Indianan so just Ā when I thought I only had half an hour to ride the clock switched and suddenly I had an hour and a half. Appart from having one of those tickly coughs that ends up in you dry heaving I was enjoying the ride and before I knew it there was a guy parked on a red scooter/side car combo waiting for me outside of a Casino.

We went in to the casino so that I could use the toilet/bathroom/restroom/head then went back to the top of the car park to get some shots of the view

W
e then went back down to the Casino to see if we could get a photo of FF on a roulette table but security were having none of it so I settled with this pic of him on a slot machine.

Then Graham did his best pose in front of the gaming floor (is that what they are called in casinos ?). Graham has been massively helpful arranging for my scooter to be fixed, sourcing the parts and stopping me being murdered in dodgy housing projects. Thanks Graham.

Then we hit the road to Chicago to a shop called ScooterworksĀ http://scooterworkschicago.com/ to get the oil leak on my scooter fixed.

I had been in touch with scooterworks while I was planning the trip and they been more than helpful. As soon as we arrived my scoot was up in the ramp being worked on.

While the work was being done me and FF took a look around the shop and he posed on a few bikes.

We even took this arty shot –

This reminded me of a couple of people,Stella is what my model of scooter is called this side of the pond.

Then Ryan Reynolds (no not that one) the guy who runs scooterworks told me that a dog training place had just opened next door so I couldnt resist taking them a visit so that FF could practice his agility. The place is called urban pooch and is like heaven for people who like training dogsĀ http://urbanpooch.com/

It wasnt long before my scooter was fixed and we were ready to roll. If anyone in the US needs any help with anything scooter related then Scooterworks is the place to go. The service was incredible and they were a great bunch of guys (I am sounding more American by the day),10 out of 10 from me.

They even gave me this hoodie – 11121279_10153868165074447_1286058944_n
We then worked our way through the rush hour Chicago traffic to my hotel,I got charged $39 for one nights parking and then we sat down for a pretty decent Thai dinner.

Today has been a great day, I have met some really cool people and seen a cool city. Its a shame I missed out on doing touristy crap but I might have time to see some stuff tomorrow but to be honest visiting a street where there is a scooter shop next to a dog training place beats going up and slightly taller than average building.

Tomorrow I head into Iowa to a small down called Dewitt.

Oh I nearly forgot, only a couple of people will get this….
